Mastercard Casinos Australia
Online casinos may not be offered to people in Australia under the Interactive Gambling Act 2001. What that means if a site asks for your Mastercard.
Australia — Interactive Gambling Act 2001: no operator may lawfully offer online casino games to people in Australia, whatever licence it holds elsewhere. The ACMA enforces the IGA and has offshore casino sites blocked. This page is information only: it contains no rankings or operator links, and each operator page explains why that operator is not an option for people in Australia.
Why there is no list here
Under the Interactive Gambling Act 2001 (IGA) it is an offence to provide online casino games — including online pokies, roulette and blackjack — to people in Australia, whether the operator is local or offshore. The ACMA enforces the Act and has blocked illegal offshore gambling websites. A site that accepts your Mastercard for casino games is, by definition, not operating legally here, so we do not list or link any.
Credit cards and licensed wagering
Separately, amendments to the IGA have banned licensed online wagering providers (sports and race betting) from accepting credit cards since June 2024. Debit cards remain usable with licensed wagering providers.
If you have already paid an offshore casino
Offshore sites usually exclude Australia in their own terms. Rainbet’s terms (§4.1.3), for example, list Australia as a restricted country and allow accounts to be closed. You have no Australian regulator to complain to. If gambling is causing harm, free help is available 24/7 — see our responsible gambling page.
